Interpretation of Scripture:

Holy Biblical interpretation requires requires regeneration by the Holy
Spirit, an open attitude, and illumination by the Holy Spirit. It also
really helps to have some order to your method of seeking God's
disclosure in the text. The references below are not without some
difficulties but provide order and method to what might otherwise be
speculative pretense and chaos.

Biblical Language Tools:

Augustine said that language was a special gift from God to us.  If so,
words of the Bible are important and understanding them is key to a
development of a transformed mind and Biblical worldview. References to both books and online resources to aid your interpretation of biblical texts when the Greek and Hebrew languages provide subtle nuances to the meaning.

Historical-Cultural Tools:

Key references both online and in book format that provide necessary cultural and historical background needed to sometimes better understand and more often clearly enrich insight into the Scriptures meaning.

General Commentaries:

General commentaries include sets of books or books on CDs that provide interpretations and discussions of the biblical texts.  The texts on this list begin with essentials and move to the 'nice to have' category

Theology Studies:

I have separated theological studies into two broad categories.  The first is the most common and is called systematic theology.  It considers theology according to topic.  The second category is Biblical theology which views a topic as it develops through the books of the Bible.

Worldview Studies:

Alice peering into the 'looking glass' of how people in the culture come to read texts and interpret through their mental constructs of reality. Come on in and look around.
